Maintenance of Chopsticks:

Use the following steps to keep chopsticks hygienic in our everyday lives.

⦁ Storing in Dry Area:

The chopsticks might become discolored and warped if they are exposed to direct sunlight. To keep the colors of the chopsticks, keep them in a dark, dry, and well-ventilated environment. The ideal location to preserve them is in a chopsticks-specific box with ventilation to keep the air circulating.

⦁ Soak in Vinegar:

Clean the chopsticks with water to remove smells. Equal parts vinegar and water are mixed together, and the chopsticks are rubbed with the solution along their grain. To mask the vinegar odor, add a tablespoon of lemon juice. If you don’t want to do that, you’ll have to wait a few days for the vinegar smell to go away before using the chopsticks. However, this is just if you can’t stand the smell.

⦁ Clean with Lime Juice and Baking Soda:

The chopsticks may appear discolored if you ate something really oily with them. With one cup of water, combine one part baking soda and one part lime juice. Rub the mixture all over the chopsticks with cloth. Always move in the grain’s direction. To get rid of the stain and keep the original color, add a couple pinches of rock salt to the mixture.

⦁ Smoothen with Sandpaper:

If your chopsticks begin to splinter, discard them; however, if you want to keep them, smooth them down with sandpaper. It is a less expensive alternative to purchasing new ones. For a quick remedy, keep 100, 200, and 400 grit sandpapers on hand in your home or business. While these tips and tactics help to extend the life of chopsticks, they cannot be used indefinitely, especially if they are made of wood or bamboo.
